The Coconut Grove Spotlight has partnered with Report for America to bring two new full-time reporters to the newsroom. Both were selected through a national search and several rounds of interviews. They will soon be moving to Miami, and we’ll introduce them to you next week.
Report for America is a national nonprofit that helps strengthen local journalism by placing reporters in community newsrooms across the country and helping organizations build sustainable local support.
To our knowledge, bringing two reporters to an organization as young as the Spotlight is unprecedented within the Report for America program. It shows how much RFA shares our community’s belief that local news matters, and this community is worth covering well.
Because readers like you keep showing that clear, useful local news has a real place in this community, we can all continue to make it better and together we can build on that momentum.
