A four-hour symposium on boating safety hosted by Miami Mayor Francis Suarez will take place Saturday June 29 starting at 10 a.m. at Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive in Coconut Grove. The free event will include information about boating check lists, equipment, marine rules of the road, and first aid. The symposium includes a panel discussion featuring representatives of the Miami Fire-Rescue and Police Departments, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Lucy Fernandez Foundation, followed by a workshop on CPR, radio communications, and fire extinguishers. Attendees will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the event. The event is free but participants are required to register before attending the event at this website.
