30 Mostly True Stories of Coconut Grove

Local developer, Miami 21 zoning guru and Spotlight contributor Andy Parrish revisits some of Coconut Grove’s most memorable moments over the past 40 years in a new book now available on Amazon’s website.  The scattershot tales and short interviews Parrish serves up in “30 Mostly True Stories of Coconut Grove” offer a colorful look at recent Grove history from the perspective of one long-time resident. Parrish writes about the Marching Freds, drunken airline pilots, corrupt politicians and some forgotten landmarks and personalities – all with a heavy dose of nostalgia. “Like most things in life, these stories are a mix of the light and the dark, the happy and not-so-happy, but all are intended to be entertaining in some way. Otherwise, why write them now… or read them? They’re all short, too,” the book jacket says. Parrish doesn’t vouch that his stories are 100% true – only that he remembers them. The book retails for $29 hardcover ($24 paperback) on Amazon.
