Mercy Hospital in Coconut Grove has a new chief executive officer. Allyssa Tobitt, 33, has been tapped to lead the 488-bed HCA Florida facility as the hospital’s CEO, effective this month. With 1,450 employees, Mercy Hospital is one of the largest employers in Coconut Grove. Tobitt previously served as assistant vice president of operations at Aventura Hospital and as chief operating officer at Sarasota Doctors Hospital. Most recently, Tobitt was CEO of Parham Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Tobitt holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Middle Tennessee State University. “Allyssa brings successful strategic leadership, operational efficiency and a passion for improving patient outcomes,” Charles Gressle, president of HCA East Florida Division, said in a statement. “We are excited about welcoming Allyssa back to the Miami-Dade market and HCA East Florida.”
