To the Editor:
Our beautiful Biscayne Bay is becoming a boat junkyard.
Miami Beach and other communities enforced boat anchoring laws and forced the junkyard fleet to relocate off Coconut Grove.
Why this matters: huge environment damage — most boats dump sewage into the water; abandoned boats and long anchor lines are dangerous obstacles for our young sailors; junk and illegal moorings are navigational hazards blocking our channels.
Abandoned boats are sinking and wrecking our small islands.

Miami Marine Police do nothing… Florida Water Conservation Police do nothing… USCG does nothing…
It’s time for local boaters with legal moorings, Yacht Clubs and the entire Community to insist government agencies do their job and clean up our bay now!
