Life is the Bubbles
Young families like to drop a line in the water and ‘fish’ from the seawall at Alice Wainwright Park. Even if there’s no real hook on the line, kids love the experience next to the Bay. And the park’s recent renovation stuns many that haven’t visited since its redo. Perhaps you’ll see a mermaid. If not…
The Little Mermaid live musical performance at the Area Stage–submerged deep inside Sunset Mall–opened last week. The summer’s show features talented young professionals in the cast, a Tony-nominated set designer, and more feel-good packed into a family-friendly evening than fish in the sea. The show runs through August 4th.
If you can’t go under the sea, witness the moon rise above it. Tonight the moon rises about an hour before the sun sets at 8:13. Favorite places to share the moment include the gazebo dock at Kennedy Park (A hidden gem. Park closes at sunset.).
After the park closes, Miami’s Trolleys still run past Kennedy Park to Brickell, where you can explore that hip neighborhood. The Trolley is free and there’s a pretty good online “Trolley Tracker” that gives you confidence that your ride will arrive soon. Miami City Trolleys operate until 11:00 PM.
