  1. ““We are exploring ways to keep them involved in the center’s future,” Roy Coley, the county utilities and regulation chief, said.” The hubris! Please tell me they aren’t trampling on Marjory Stoneman Douglas’s legacy so the wealthy can use the building for weddings and parties. Does every bit of nature need to be available for recreation and entertainment? This is getting ridiculous.

  2. The Marjory Stoneman Douglas / Biscayne Nature Center is one of three supportive partners that serve our community’s children, adults, and visiting tourists.
Together with the complimentary programs of Miami-Dade Parks and Recreation and the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, young and old become engaged naturalists in the understanding and appreciation our unique native habitats, the living things that depend upon them, and the need to be good stewards of our environment.
The partnership itself, is a decades, long-standing relationship of accomplished beauty and cooperative grace that serves our community well for generations.
