Miami Spent $150K on Long-Shot Election Appeal

  1. And yet this Commission (and Mayor) have yet to spend one cent to stand up to the State’s “Live Local Act” usurpation (“preemption)”) of our local zoning code Miami 21. Other Cities and Counties are exploring telling Tallahassee that their local codes and historic protections for existing neighborhoods all matter and should at least be considered. It’s possible the State might punish poor little Miami for having the temerity to even ask for a little time to come up with our own plan to help solve the state-wide Affordable Housing shortage. Believe it or not, Miami 21 was designed to do that. If granted that time,–say, one year–it would certainly light a fire under our Commissoners’ and Mayor’s fannies.. Wow! They’d all have to work together for us!
