Fresh out of college and within a month of landing a coveted marketing job in New York City with cosmetics-maker COVERGIRL, Christina Mallon began losing control of her fingers. Then her hands. And then her arms and shoulders.
With doctors unable to pinpoint the cause and no treatment or clear path to recovery, many around her quietly assumed her condition would prevent her from leading an independent and fulfilling life.
They were wrong.
Three candidates are running to represent Coconut Grove on the Miami-Dade County Commission. Election day is Tuesday August 20.
The Miami Foundation hosts an online forum this week featuring the three candidates running to represent District 7 on the Miami-Dade County Commission. The forum will stream live on Thursday July 18 at 7:00 p.m., and then be posted for later viewing. The forum is one of several being hosted this summer by the foundation. Election day is Tuesday August 20.
