Grovites take to the polls on Tuesday.
All eyes may be on the Trump-Harris faceoff in November but Coconut Grove voters will take to the polls on Tuesday in a primary election to decide a number of local races and ballot initiatives.
Among the seats at stake: U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, Miami-Dade County Mayor and Miami-Dade County Commission District 7, which includes Coconut Grove.
Florida has “closed” primaries which means, in most cases, voters with registered party affiliation will be choosing their party’s candidate for the November 5 general election.
Partisan primaries on Tuesday’s ballot include county sheriff, county supervisor of elections, and county tax collector. Republicans will also elect local representatives for their party’s Miami-Dade executive committee.

Finding inner zen. Our favorite way to reach UYoga at Vizcaya’s Underline station is to walk or bike across US-1 using the pedestrian bridge from Vizcaya, where street parking is available on SE 32nd Road. Thursdays 7:00 PM. Free.
Celebrating the renovated Virginia Key Basin Trail. The ribbon-cutting ceremony marks this highlight for this unique City park. Mayor Suarez and Commissioner Pardo lead the event. 3501 Rickenbacker Causeway. Thursday 8/22 at 10:30 AM.
