To the Editor:
It was great to read your recent article in support of Shake-a-Leg. They serve a great purpose to our community, but I think your congratulatory left out some important facts. As a longtime Grove resident, I have witnessed the growth of this organization over many years. Unfortunately, we have also had to deal with the blight this organization has put on our waterfront. Over the years they have taken over a public launch ramp, a massive Coast Guard hangar and many yards of valuable waterfront. They have somehow been allowed to build their own marina, where yachts seem to be moored for free. We also have to deal with the mass of abandoned boats and equipment on valuable waterfront land. I think this organization has gone way too far in its aims, and has been given way too much property and land to do whatever they feel like. All to the detriment of thousands of local residents.
